To begin, we will discover the origins of Reus and the traces of its medieval past. Next, we will visit the Prioral Church of Sant Pere. Then we will advance in history and learn about the moment “Reus, Paris, London,” when brandy led Reus to become the second city of Catalonia. We will also stop to admire the most outstanding modernist facades, such as the works of Lluís Domènech i Montaner: Casa Navàs, Casa Rull, and Casa Gasull.
Halfway through the tour, we will pass through Prim Square, where we will talk about this important illustrious son of Reus and make special mention of the Fortuny Theater.
Did you know that Gaudí was invited to participate in the project competition to build the theater? We will also talk about Gaudí, his childhood, and his frustrated projects in the city.
We will finish the visit at the Vermouth Museum, a vermouth bar that displays more than 6,000 objects related to this popular drink, where we will learn about the history of vermouth and enjoy a tasting of Reus Vermouth.
