Plaça de la Creu, 18, 08700 Igualada, Barcelona, Spain

Step back in time with a guided tour in Igualada through the city centre and admire the modernist, noucentista and neoclassical buildings that dress the capital of Anoia, taking you back to Igualada in 1900.
In 1899 a new society was inaugurated in Igualada: the Mercantile, Industrial and Agricultural Circle was born and settled on Clos Street... Nothing new, except for the architectural style of the building: modernism has arrived in the city, brought by the most important industrial families of the city.
From that moment on, there was no stopping, and modernist buildings of all types appeared in Igualada: homes, textile factories, tanneries, the Slaughterhouse... reaching up to 131 buildings with at least one modernist element.
We now propose a guided tour of the city of Igualada to discover some of these modernist spaces and also how this style arrived and evolved in Igualada.
