Travel to the industrial past of Catalonia with a visit to the Water and Textile Museum of Manresa, a unique space that combines heritage, history, and innovation inside the city's old water reservoirs, built to ensure the water supply of Manresa and rehabilitated as a museum in 1992.
The visit allows you to discover two large permanent exhibitions that explain the development of the city and its close relationship with water and the textile industry.
On one hand, you will learn about the history of the Manresa Canal, an extraordinary hydraulic engineering work built in the 14th century. This 26-kilometer canal has been fundamental for the economic and social growth of the territory and continues to supply water to the city today.
On the other hand, you will explore a comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the evolution of the Catalan textile industry, with special attention to the ribbon-making tradition of Manresa. You will discover how this sector has evolved from the late Middle Ages to the present day through an exceptional collection of historical machinery, considered one of the most complete and best-preserved in Catalonia.
The museum offers an educational and interactive experience for all audiences, ideal for getting to know Catalan industrial heritage up close and understanding the importance that water and industry had in the development of the territory.
