Travel to Igualada in 1900 with a guided tour through the city center to contemplate and admire the modernist, noucentista, and neoclassical buildings that dress the capital of Anoia!
In 1899 a new society was inaugurated in Igualada: the Mercantile, Industrial and Agricultural Circle was born and settled on Clos Street... Nothing new, if it weren't for the architectural style of the building: modernism has arrived in the city and it does so hand in hand with the most important industrial families of the city.
From that moment on, there was no stopping and modernist buildings of all types appeared in Igualada: homes, textile factories, tanneries, the Slaughterhouse... reaching up to 131 buildings with at least some modernist element.
We now propose a guided tour of the city of Igualada to discover some of these modernist spaces and also how it arrived and evolved in Igualada.
