What do we do?

Els Prats de Rei is located at a key point of historical Segarra that allows control of the territory and access.

This privileged location explains the appearance of Sigarra, one of the main Iberian settlements in Central Catalonia. In the 1st century, however, it did not disappear with the arrival of the Romans: it transformed into the Municipium Sigarrense.

The strategic value remained in the Middle Ages, but also in modern times. Thus, Els Prats de Rei became the scene of major battles of the Catalan Civil War and, of course, the War of Succession.

In this tour of Els Prats de Rei, we will revive the past but also understand how this small yet central town was forged.
